Finding it tough to keep your child seated in one place? This is a typical sign of a pitta child. Though hyperactive, the child has a sharp intellect, an easy-to-handle attitude, and a playful nature. Their natural leadership skills ensure they have a fan following too!

Anger is something that pitta children cannot handle well. Their outbursts can be pretty aggressive. However, when in a good mood, they will endear themselves to you with their sweet and charming activities.

Ayurveda recommends the following to balance the moods of a pitta child.

Taste

  • To keep them cool, add fruits and vegetables, like cucumber, watermelon, and apples, to their diet.

  • Spicy or hot food is best avoided as it only aggravates their temperaments.

  • Not a huge foodie, the pitta child will eat only when it wants to, so don’t force them to eat when they don’t want to.

Touch and smell

  • A good rub with coconut oil soothes the pitta child.

  • To lighten the mood, use gentle fragrances around the house like lavender, sandalwood, or jasmine.

Sight and colors

  • Give them wide, open clutter-free spaces for all their activities.

  • Using pastel shades of green, blue, and silver in their surroundings, as well as in their clothing, keeps the pitta child in a happy frame of mind.

Routines

  • A silent walk in nature, or even some time alone, soothes them.

  • Teach kapha children meditation to stay calm.

  • Take competition out of their sporting activities as this stresses them.

The pitta child can be a handful one, but if these tips are kept in mind, their childhood can be an enjoyable experience for all. To know about your child and their dosha, consult a Jiva doctor. Dial 0129-4040404 or click on ‘Speak to a Doctor’ under the CONNECT tab in Jiva Health App.
